Over the past six months, 82 Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units have carried out 8,064 visits to 2,619 towns and villages across Ukraine
During this period, they provided nearly 144,000 medical consultations to people of all ages.
Every day, Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units travel to remote communities where access to primary healthcare is limited or unavailable, and where reaching the nearest healthcare facility is extremely difficult.
Supporting the most remote and border communities remains a priority, particularly where access to healthcare is constrained by the security situation.
Mobile health units continue to operate in 20 regions, including the most remote areas of all frontline regions. Depending on the location, each team provides consultations to between 10 and 30 people during a single visit.
Each mobile health unit consists of a family doctor and one or two nurses. They carry out medical examinations, provide medical consultations, monitor people’s health, and supply over-the-counter medicines where needed.
The schedules and routes of the mobile health units are planned by the heads of Primary Healthcare Centres based on requests and the current needs of local communities. Staff at rural health posts and local officials inform residents in advance about the date and time of the team’s next visit.
We stand by those in need.
