Video: Supporting Volunteer Fire Brigades in Kyiv Region

The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support the development of local emergency response systems and strengthen communities’ capacity to respond to emergencies.

As part of these efforts, 60 sets of emergency response equipment were handed over to volunteer fire brigades from 22 communities across the Kyiv region. Each set includes firefighting protective clothing, helmets, fire hoses, nozzles, portable pumps, shields and other essential gear required for effective emergency response.

The equipment was provided with U.S. support.

Today, volunteer fire brigades are an important part of Ukraine’s emergency response system. Every minute counts, and professional emergency services may be located a considerable distance away.

Together, we are strengthening the safety, resilience and preparedness of communities to face today’s challenges.
