The Ukrainian Red Cross team responded to the aftermath of attacks on Kyiv and the Kyiv region

In Vyshhorod, the emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Kyiv region worked alongside emergency services following the attack. Volunteers conducted door-to-door checks in the damaged residential building and provided first aid to one person. According to the State Emergency Service of the Kyiv region, a drone strike hit a multi-storey residential building.

In Kyiv, emergency response teams from the Kyiv region and the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross worked at two locations. Volunteers provided first aid to 28 people with injuries of varying severity, including 6 who were transferred to emergency medical teams for further hospitalisation. Together with first responders, volunteers evacuated injured people and people with limited mobility from damaged buildings. The bodies of two people killed in the attack were also recovered and handed over to the relevant services. Psychological first aid was also provided to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

An assistance point remains operational in the capital, where volunteers from the Shevchenkivskyi district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kyiv are supporting emergency responders, other specialised services, and local residents.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the number of people injured in the massive Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 87, including three children. Two people were killed. Damage to civilian and administrative infrastructure was recorded at 49 locations across the capital.

Response efforts are ongoing.
