Supporting Pets of IDPs in Kirovohrad Region

“I came from Nova Kakhovka. We had a very long journey — it took us five days. My dog was also very stressed. At home, he used to be the boss, but here he doesn’t know anyone,” says Olena, a participant in the pet support programme, who relocated from the Kherson region and now lives in Oleksandriia.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Red Cross has distributed more than 544 tonnes of pet food and over 79,000 essential pet care items to internally displaced people and other vulnerable groups.

The programme is implemented in partnership with Humane World for Animals across 22 regions of the country.
