Second All-Ukrainian Tournament of Young Experts in International Humanitarian Law concludes

The 2026 All-Ukrainian International Humanitarian Law (IHL) competition for students in grades 9–11 was held in Kyiv and brought together 12 teams from across Ukraine. The tournament was co-organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.

Welcoming remarks were delivered to participants by Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, as well as representatives of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.

The grand prize winner of the tournament was the “Themis” team from Kharkiv (Kharkiv Private Lyceum “Kharkiv Collegium”, Private Educational Institution Kharkiv Lyceum “Boyko Author’s School”, Kharkiv Lyceum No. 156, Kharkiv Lyceum No. 16).

First-degree diplomas were awarded to:

• The “True Crime” team (Kharkiv Lyceum No. 116, Kharkiv City Council; Kharkiv Lyceum of Arts No. 133, Kharkiv City Council)
• The “Magisters of Justice” team of Ivano-Frankivsk Scientific Physical and Technical Lyceum of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council
• The “Warriors of Light” team of Rivne Lyceum “Leader”, Rivne City Council

Special awards:

• Best Speaker – Kyrylo Hrytsenko, Ivano-Frankivsk Scientific Physical and Technical Lyceum
• Best Opponent – Sofiia Baranetska, Rivne Lyceum “Leader”
• Best Reviewer – Sofiia Zahura, Novovolynsk Scientific Lyceum of the Volyn Regional Council
• Best Argumentation – Yuliia Naboka, Kharkiv Lyceum No. 16
• Best Team Captain – Yeva Zaleska, Kharkiv Lyceum No. 116
