Odesa: Ukrainian Red Cross team assists those affected by overnight attack
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Odesa region, working alongside emergency services, responded to locations affected by last night’s attack on Odesa. Volunteers carried out door-to-door checks to identify those in need, provided first aid to three people, and assisted residents in evacuating damaged buildings. Ten individuals experiencing acute stress reactions received psychological first aid.
A Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point was set up on-site, where people could have tea or water, charge mobile devices, and access basic support. Humanitarian aid is currently being distributed to those whose homes were damaged.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, three people were injured in the Russian attack on Odesa. Apartments on the 18th and 19th floors of a 25-storey residential building were partially destroyed, and a fire broke out. Damage and fire were also reported in a two-storey residential building, and the second floor of a three-storey building was damaged. A fire broke out in an apartment on the 14th floor of a 22-storey building, from which 70 people were evacuated. More than 10 vehicles were also damaged.
