She took up sewing for the first time — and discovered new opportunities
Viktoriia Ocheretiana, the daughter of a veteran, lost her job due to life circumstances but continued to actively seek new professional opportunities. She came across the Reboot programme in Cherkasy by chance on social media and saw it as an opportunity to gain a new profession and return to an active life.
As part of the programme, she completed a clothing production course, where she learned how to work with different fabrics, draft patterns, and create garments from the initial concept through to the finished product. The practical sessions helped her to apply her new skills with confidence and develop her own projects.
Viktoriia’s story is an example of how the Reboot programme opens up opportunities for people facing difficult life circumstances, those belonging to vulnerable groups, or those in need of a fresh start. Among the participants are relatives of veterans, such as Viktoriia, for whom participation in the programme becomes an important step towards professional resilience.
The Reboot programme in Cherkasy is implemented with the support of the Spanish Red Cross.
