Highlights of Ukrainian Red Cross Activities in International Humanitarian Law in 2025
Throughout 2025, the Ukrainian Red Cross actively promoted knowledge of international humanitarian law (IHL) and worked to protect the Red Cross emblem. Thanks to new initiatives and the support of partners, both the number of activities and their overall reach increased significantly. Key results include:
- approximately 750,000 people reached with information on IHL through the Ukrainian Red Cross’s social media platforms;
- 150 IHL-related events held across the country;
- more than 7,000 participants engaged in training activities;
- 10 books and other IHL-related materials published;
- around 100 sessions conducted on the meaning and protection of the Red Cross emblem.
A number of national projects were implemented, including educational campaigns, IHL competitions, thematic conferences, and other related activities. The organisation’s specialists also actively exchanged experience with international colleagues and participated in international events.
The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to raise awareness of international humanitarian law and supports the implementation of its norms in Ukraine, fostering a culture of respect for the Red Cross emblem.
