“When you have support, starting from scratch is no longer so frightening” — Valentyna, participant in the Reboot programme

Valentyna is an internally displaced person from the city of Siverskodonetsk in the Luhansk region. After the start of the full-scale invasion, she and her husband were forced to relocate to the town of Kozova in the Ternopil region. In her hometown, Valentyna worked as a school cleaner for 20 years, but due to health issues she had been unable to return to work in recent years.

For a long time, Valentyna had dreamed of developing her skills in hairdressing, which she had practised for family members and friends. When she came across information about the Reboot programme, she seriously considered for the first time whether she could turn her hobby into a profession. Through the programme, she completed hairdressing courses and, after finishing her training, found employment at a beauty salon.

Valentyna did not stop there. She later applied for microgrant support through the same Reboot programme and was selected as one of the successful applicants. The grant enabled her not only to believe in the possibility of starting her own business, but also to purchase professional equipment essential for full-scale work and business development.

Today, Valentyna is ready to welcome clients, help them feel confident and beautiful, and gradually rebuild her life in a new place — thanks to her determination and the support provided through the programme.
