Enhancing Staff Safety: Training for Ukrainian Red Cross Mobile Health Units
A training session titled “Safety in Humanitarian Work” was held for staff of the mobile health units of the Dnipro regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Team safety is one of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s key priorities. That is why the organisation works systematically to raise staff awareness of the risks they may encounter while carrying out their duties.
During the training, participants covered topics such as developing a culture of safety within the organisation, minimum safety requirements and their practical application, procedures to follow in the event of safety-related incidents, risk assessment and management, and planning safe field visits and operations.
The knowledge and practical skills gained will help enhance the personal safety of staff and the safety of the people they assist in an environment where ongoing threats exist.
The training was organised by the Risk Management Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with the support of the British Red Cross.
