Ukrainian Red Cross Leadership on a Working Visit to Luxembourg

As part of a working visit to Luxembourg, Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, took part in a solemn ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. The ceremony was held at the National Liberation Memorial at Schumann’s Eck and was an important occasion to honour the victims of war and reaffirm remembrance and solidarity.

The event was attended by representatives of the Luxembourg authorities, the diplomatic corps and international organisations. Among those present were Luxembourg’s Minister of Defence, Yuriko Backes, President of the Chamber of Deputies Claude Wiseler, representatives of the Luxembourg Armed Forces, ambassadors of foreign states, representatives of the Luxembourg Red Cross, as well as leaders of local communities and civil society organisations.

The participation of the Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the ceremony was a further expression of international support for Ukraine and recognition of the vital role played by humanitarian organisations in protecting human life during wartime. Today, the remembrance of tragic chapters in European history takes on particular significance in the context of the full-scale war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Red Cross expresses its sincere gratitude to its partners in Luxembourg for their solidarity, continued support for Ukraine and shared humanitarian values.
