In Ivano-Frankivsk, a social integration meeting was held for the families of missing persons, organised by the Tracing Service of the Ukrainian Red Cross
The team from the Restoring Family Links Service arranged the meeting in the form of an excursion through the Carpathians. Participants visited the village of Maniava. The drive through the autumn mountains, a visit to the monastery and its surroundings, and a stop at the highest waterfall in the Carpathians all helped bring comfort to people living in constant anxiety for their loved ones. The hikes were not only a physical challenge but also an opportunity for participants to feel better emotionally. The group also visited the village of Starunia, where they joined a commemorative walk to honour the missing and express their hope for their safe return.
At the end of the day, participants shared their impressions. Many said that the meeting helped them feel supported — both by the Ukrainian Red Cross team and by one another — to find strength to keep going and to believe again in a better future. The event brought together people who share a common pain and are ready to support each other to keep hope alive.
A representative of the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health unit also accompanied the group during the trip, providing primary medical assistance if needed.
