Kharkiv: Ukrainian Red Cross is responding at the site of the strike in the city
Twelve volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team are working alongside the city’s emergency services. Volunteers have been inspecting damaged buildings and surrounding areas, assisting with evacuating children from shelters, and providing first aid and psychological support to those affected.
Damage assessments are still ongoing, and the needs of those affected are being identified. An aid station is being set up where people can access water, tea, and coffee. Based on identified needs, humanitarian aid will be distributed on-site, including OSB boards, tarpaulins, transit kits, water, and other essentials.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports that response efforts are ongoing following a Russian UAV strike on Kharkiv. One person has died, and six others were injured. At the time of the attack, 48 children were sheltering and all have been evacuated to a safe location. A fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building.
