Raising Awareness about Explosive Hazards and Safety Rules in the Kyiv Region: Monitoring Visit with the ICRC
Last week, Svitlana Avramenko, Head of the Humanitarian Access and Protection Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted a monitoring visit to the Kyiv region.
With the start of the new school year, our teams have resumed active awareness sessions for schoolchildren and teaching staff on the risks of mines and explosive remnants of war. This work is particularly vital, as many children travel to and from school independently and regularly attend extracurricular clubs and sports activities. They need to understand the basic safety protocols and how to respond if they encounter a suspicious or explosive object — knowledge that can help protect both themselves and those around them.
“Our team is constantly striving to improve and grow, because we work for the safety of communities. Each information session is an investment in the future — a future where knowledge saves lives,” said Svitlana Avramenko.
We stand by those in need.
