The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Cherkasy region has carried out several interregional patient transfers
Transportation is a key area of work for the Ukrainian Red Cross. Every day, volunteers from the emergency response teams carry out specialised transfers of people who are unable to move independently to medical facilities or following treatment.
Recently, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Cherkasy region conducted several important interregional transfers in cooperation with colleagues from other regions. Together, volunteers from the emergency response teams in the Ternopil and Zakarpattia regions transported a wounded man from Cherkasy to Zakarpattia. Additionally, working with volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Vinnytsia region, they transported a patient with a serious condition to Lviv.
The organisation of transport forms part of the comprehensive work of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams, alongside responding to emergencies. In many cases, the logistics of these journeys are complex — often involving not only transportation but also the safe movement of individuals through narrow entrances, multi-storey buildings without lifts, or in adverse weather conditions. For this reason, our volunteers receive specialised training, are equipped with the necessary tools, and act in a coordinated manner, showing respect and care to everyone involved.
