Training on rehabilitation aids held for social helpers in Zaporizhzhia

As part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s community-based rehabilitation efforts, a team of trainers from the physical and mental rehabilitation division of the Zaporizhzhia regional branch conducted a training session for social helpers titled “Assistive Devices for Rehabilitation.”

The aim of the session was to strengthen the skills of social helpers and volunteers who support people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with limited mobility receiving home-based care.

Participants learned about a wide range of rehabilitation aids — from walkers and crutches to orthopaedic equipment and specialised devices for care and mobility. Particular attention was given to the correct selection, use, and maintenance of these aids, as well as to techniques for creating a safe and supportive environment for beneficiaries.
