Zaporizhzhia: Assistance to the Victims of the Russian Strike – 8 January 2025

At approximately 16:00 on 8 January 2025, the Russian military carried out two air strikes using guided bombs on the city of Zaporizhzhia. As of the morning of 9 January 2025, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that as a result of the attack, 113 people were injured, including one child, and 13 people were killed.

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Zaporizhzhia region provided first aid to 9 victims at the site of the strike and transported 7 others with serious injuries to the hospital. Volunteers also provided psychological first aid to more than 30 victims and their relatives.

Firefighters from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine extinguished a fire in an administrative building, covering an area of 800 square metres. In total, 4 administrative buildings, 27 cars, and a tram were damaged.
