Over 1,300 participants joined rehabilitation training events in the Chernihiv region
Since March this year, the team of the Physical and Mental Rehabilitation Programme of the Ukrainian Red Cross has been working across communities in the Chernihiv region to make rehabilitation services accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live.
Throughout the programme’s implementation, mobile rehabilitation unit specialists have provided physical therapy services to residents of the Snovsk, Horodnia, Ripky, Mykhailo-Kotsiubynske, Kipti, Kyselivka, Kyinka, and Ivanivka communities.
During this time, they carried out more than 380 field visits, during which 52 people with various musculoskeletal disorders received support. In addition, 30 caregivers and family members of beneficiaries accessed information and psychosocial support services provided by the specialists.
The team also distributed 69 assistive devices for rehabilitation, helping to improve beneficiaries’ mobility and independence, and issued 245 assistive items through institutional facilities.
An important part of the work remains awareness-raising: over the year, the programme’s trainer conducted 38 training sessions and 51 information sessions for more than 1,300 participants, aimed at strengthening knowledge and understanding of evidence-based rehabilitation.
The Physical and Mental Rehabilitation Programme in the Chernihiv region is implemented with the support of the British Red Cross.
We stand by those in need, supporting everyone on their path to recovery.
