The Ukrainian Red Cross has established social assistance points in the most remote communities of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions.

These centres provide psychological and informational support, offer charging facilities for gadgets during power outages, help people stay warm in winter, and serve as places for social interaction. Based on an assessment of local needs, all centres are equipped with generators and other essential equipment. Most of the social assistance points are designed to accommodate children comfortably.

“Our village is located in a war zone, so people often lack opportunities to communicate, as all educational and cultural institutions are closed here,” says Raisa, director of a kindergarten where one of the points has been set up.

This project is being implemented with financial support from the German Red Cross, the Danish Red Cross, and the European Union.
