Assistance to Those Affected by the Missile Attack on Mykolaiv on 10 October 2024
Mykolaiv was again subjected to a Russian missile attack. According to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, a critical infrastructure facility was struck, resulting in three reported injuries. Fortunately, the employees of the enterprise managed to reach a shelter in time, thereby avoiding the worst consequences of the attack. The blast wave also damaged the windows and roofs of four apartment buildings and the roof of one private house.
The Mykolaiv emergency response team from the Ukrainian Red Cross promptly arrived at the scene. Volunteers searched the area for victims, administered first aid to one person, and provided drinking water to emergency workers.
Employees and volunteers of the Mykolaiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross also quickly responded to the strike. At the emergency site, those affected received construction materials for temporary repairs to damaged homes. The team distributed:
- 300 square metres of plastic sheeting
- 70 sheets of tarpaulin
- 45 blankets
