Participation in the Second Kyiv Veterans Forum

Representatives from the Kyiv city branch and the Holosiivskyi, Desnianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi district branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross participated in the Second Kyiv Veterans Forum.

They discussed how they support veterans and their families. In particular, social workers from the Ukrainian Red Cross care for the parents of defenders who have been left alone during the war and require assistance in their daily lives. Additionally, volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross regularly participate in blood drives or organise them to replenish the blood bank, ensuring that hospitals have the necessary supplies for treating seriously ill patients. Moreover, the organisations offer free rental services for rehabilitation equipment for anyone in need.

For families searching for missing relatives, the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service assists in the search and provides essential information and psychological support to those who have lost contact with their loved ones. For those who have lost relatives in the war, the organisation holds weekly psychosocial support events. Additionally, field trips are organised from time to time for the children of combatants and fallen heroes.

“We plan to continue our mission of helping veterans and their families, expanding our programmes to provide support to those in need. Together, we can do more!” the Kyiv city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross stated on its Facebook page.
