Ukrainian Red Cross mental health and psychosocial support teams met in Vinnytsia to share experiences

Teams from the Vinnytsia, Rivne, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions held a three-day meeting focused on several important tasks:

  • Professional development in mental health and psychosocial support to assist various categories of people in need.
  • Experience exchange to enhance support during events, respond effectively to emergencies, and address situations where people require assistance.
  • Developing cooperation between teams and creating a supportive environment is essential, as such a space is crucial for teams to be effective in helping others.
  • Supporting emotional well-being, which is essential for the overall health of employees and volunteers.

This was the final of four meetings designed to provide a supportive and safe environment for the team. Participants enhanced their skills and knowledge to make support more accessible and effective. Valuable experiences in psychological first aid for children, psychosocial counselling, and emotional resilience programme activities will enable the Ukrainian Red Cross to develop mental health and psychosocial support across the country. The meeting was held with the support and participation of the Danish Red Cross and the German Red Cross.
