Mine Risk Education for Schoolchildren in the Zaporizhzhia Region

Recently, in the village of Kanivske, mine risk educators held information sessions for adults, and with the start of the school year, they resumed similar events for children. During the main part of the session, educators explained what mines look like and what actions to take if they are encountered. Volunteers then facilitated an interactive game where participants assembled puzzles related to mine safety, helping the children consolidate their knowledge in an engaging and accessible way.

At the end of the session, each young participant received a comic book designed to reinforce the important rules of safe behaviour.

These educational events are a vital part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s work aimed at safeguarding lives and health in the face of modern challenges. Through these sessions, children learn to recognise dangers and respond appropriately in hazardous situations.
