Valerii became one of more than 40 winners who received a microgrant from the Ukrainian Red Cross to start a business in the Mykolaiv region
Due to the shelling of Prybuzke, a village on the border of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, Valerii and his family had to leave their home. This relocation not only involved a change of residence but also resulted in the loss of his job, significantly affecting the family’s financial situation. With a ready-made business plan, Valerii applied for the Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities project, which is supported by the Spanish Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross. After winning the grant, he established his own construction and metalwork business, using the microgrant to purchase modern equipment.
The Ukrainian Red Cross actively supports both internally displaced persons and other vulnerable populations in starting their businesses. Thanks to our international partners, we can help those who, having lost almost everything, have not given up and are striving to rebuild their lives, contributing to their futures and society.
