The Cherkasy region continues to host internally displaced persons
On the night of 7 October, another evacuation train arrived from the Donetsk region. This time, 44 more people, including 12 children, found shelter in the region. Among those who arrived, there were also people with disabilities.
At the railway station, the emergency response team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross organised a temporary rest area for the evacuees. Here, they were offered tea, coffee, hot soup, food, and basic necessities. In addition, specialists provided psychological first aid to those in need, given the stressful circumstances of relocation.
Each newcomer received the necessary attention and assistance, from medical consultations to information support. The team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross is currently planning to visit the specially equipped centres for internally displaced persons (IDPs) to provide the evacuated families with blankets, hygiene products, utensils, clothing, and other essentials.
We stand by those in need!
