Kharkiv: Assistance for Those Affected by the Strike on a Five-Storey Apartment Building
Kharkiv. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a bomb struck a five-storey residential building in one of the city’s districts, injuring 12 people, including a three-year-old girl. The blast wave shattered windows in neighbouring residential buildings and damaged a polyclinic and nearby cars.
The Kharkiv emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross and search and rescue dog handlers worked at the site of the strike alongside other emergency services. The volunteers conducted door-to-door visits to identify victims and provide first aid and psychological first aid. They also evacuated individuals from the damaged building. The search and rescue dog handlers searched for people trapped under the rubble in collaboration with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
