Ukraine, along with the rest of the world, celebrates International Doctor’s Day
Today, on the first Monday of October, Ukraine, along with the rest of the world, celebrates International Doctor’s Day.
Every day, Ukrainian doctors selflessly save lives and care for people’s health in times of war. However, their efforts often require additional support, especially in reaching residents of remote areas where access is challenging.
Since spring 2022, the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units have been carrying out this vital mission. Currently, 125 such units, comprising family doctors, medical assistants, nurses, and drivers, operate across the country.
This year alone, they have provided more than 405,000 consultations to both local residents and internally displaced persons affected by the war.
We sincerely congratulate all doctors and their assistants on their professional holiday!
