A risk management training session was recently held for Ukrainian Red Cross staff from across the country
For the Ukrainian Red Cross, risk management is fundamental to sustainable development and rapid adaptation in the context of a full-scale invasion. Effective risk management not only enables timely responses to unforeseen threats but also ensures the safety of staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries during assistance provision.
The training included interactive sessions, practical exercises, and analysis of real-life humanitarian situations. Participants developed strategies to overcome potential threats and learned how to build an effective internal control system.
This training served as an important platform for sharing experiences and enhancing professional skills, with participants gaining insights into modern approaches to risk management. It will enable the Ukrainian Red Cross to provide assistance more quickly, efficiently, and safely. The implemented risk management mechanisms will help minimise financial losses, preserve the organisation’s reputation, and ensure the rational use of resources allocated for aid.
The event was organised with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
