The Ukrainian Red Cross has donated a specialised medical vehicle to the YaMariupol Centre in Kyiv

Yesterday, during the official opening of the specialised medical hub at the YaMariupol Centre on the left bank of the capital, a specialised medical vehicle was handed over to meet the needs of the hub’s patients. The event featured the participation of Maksym Zatserkovnyi, Advisor to the Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and Ihor Prokopenko, Head of the Kyiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. It is important to note that the Ukrainian Red Cross will also cover the costs associated with the ongoing maintenance of this vehicle.

The unique aspect of the medical hub is that it was established to create an ecosystem of specialised medical facilities for Mariupol residents based on relocated medical institutions from the city.

From now on, a medical unit will be able to serve Mariupol residents, including those with limited mobility, either at home or by transporting them to medical facilities within this ecosystem as needed. The units will comprise doctors from Mariupol’s medical institutions that have been relocated to Kyiv.

A similar medical hub will soon be opened in Dnipro.

As part of a memorandum with the Mariupol City Council, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support residents of Mariupol who were forced to leave their homes.
