The Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with its partners, continues to support residents of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions
Under the project funded by the European Union, the needs of the population in the most remote villages—where access to social services remains extremely limited due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine—are being assessed. This assessment allows for the accurate identification of the most pressing needs and ensures that they are met effectively.
The project also operates social assistance points where people can spend time, keep warm during the cold season, and charge their devices during blackouts or after shelling. The Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with its partners, has set up these social assistance points and equipped them with essential resources, including sleeping areas, charging stations, and more.
The project pays special attention to psychosocial support and individual psychological counselling. Activities aimed at strengthening the psychological well-being of people affected by the war in Ukraine are regularly organised for both adults and children at social assistance points. One of the project’s key innovations is a specially equipped mobile psychosocial support unit. This vehicle travels to the most remote communities in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions, where individuals can receive psychosocial counselling upon request.
The project is implemented with support from the Danish Red Cross and the German Red Cross.
