Poltava: the Ukrainian Red Cross provides assistance at the site of the attack

On 3 September, the Russian army launched a missile attack, which targeted an educational institution and a nearby hospital in Poltava, also damaging 19 multi-storey buildings. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the attack resulted in 55 deaths and approximately 300 injuries.

In response, a team from the Ukrainian Red Cross arrived promptly at the scene to mitigate the consequences of the attack. The Poltava emergency response team was on duty to provide first aid to the injured and supply drinking water to first responders and those affected. A mobile health unit assisted in transporting the injured, and volunteers from the Poltava regional branch set up a tent to support blood donors.
