In the Dnipro region, representatives from the Ukrainian Red Cross branches of the Eastern region met with partners from the International Red Cross Movement
During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing response to the war and the new challenges in providing assistance to people in the frontline areas controlled by the Ukrainian Government.
“It is extremely essential for us to provide timely assistance to people. This involves distributing hygiene kits and food parcels and, most importantly, evacuating people from dangerous areas and offering maximum support to internally displaced persons forced to flee their homes. For instance, Kryvyi Rih alone has welcomed almost a thousand such individuals over the past week,” said Mykola Polishchuk, President of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Meanwhile, Yevhen Poliarush, Head of the Eastern Interregional Office of the Ukrainian Red Cross, stated:
“In today’s critical environment, amid growing challenges and threats, it is crucial to consolidate efforts to make prompt management decisions on projects implemented in our region and to strengthen coordination with partners within the International Red Cross Movement. Today, our strength is in unity.”
