Assistance to victims in Poltava

Today, the Russian army launched a missile attack on an educational institution and a nearby hospital in Poltava. One of the buildings was partially destroyed, and a fire broke out. It is reported that 41 people have been killed and more than 180 injured.

Emergency workers have contained the fire and are continuing to clear the rubble. Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of the rescue services, 25 people have been rescued, including 11 extracted from the rubble.

The Ukrainian Red Cross team is responding to the aftermath of the strike. The Poltava emergency response team is on duty, providing first aid and water to emergency workers and victims. Tomorrow, the Poltava regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross plans to deploy a mobile health unit to transport the injured and set up a tent to support blood donors.

The rescue operation is ongoing. Further information will be provided shortly.
