A regular training session on psychosocial counselling was held for the Ukrainian Red Cross team in Kropyvnytskyi
The training included volunteers and staff members from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Unit. It aimed to equip participants with skills to help individuals manage emotional stress (such as anxiety, fear, anger, and sadness) and address practical issues (including relationship conflicts, finding employment, and adapting to new environments). During the session, participants enhanced their counselling knowledge, shared experiences, and practised their skills.
The Ukrainian Red Cross has implemented the psychosocial counselling project in the Kirovohrad region since 2023. The region employs seven counsellors who conduct both group and individual sessions for the local population.
The project aims to help individuals manage stress, cope with the consequences of the war in Ukraine, and access quality support. Currently, the service is available to residents of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Kirovohrad regions.
