A memorandum has been signed to strengthen support for socially vulnerable populations in the Bucha community
Today, Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and Anatolii Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha, signed a memorandum to enhance support for socially vulnerable populations in the Bucha community, particularly those affected by the hostilities.
The memorandum also outlines plans for joint efforts to support critical infrastructure enterprises within the Bucha community. This includes initiatives to promote energy independence, establish water treatment facilities, and develop and provide social services to residents, such as physical rehabilitation and mental health support.
In addition, as part of the memorandum, Babyntsi village will undergo a major reconstruction of its water supply system. This will involve drilling two wells, installing a new water tower, and constructing a modern water treatment plant. These measures will provide high-quality drinking water to more than 3,500 residents of the village and to two educational facilities.
“The Ukrainian Red Cross consistently supports people in communities during humanitarian challenges. It is important to us that individuals receive the necessary assistance in a timely manner,” stated Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Meanwhile, Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk emphasised:
“In cooperation with the Red Cross, we plan to increase the number of wells in Bucha and Vorzel. This is part of a comprehensive strategy to modernise the water utility. We have a clear vision for developing the water quality in the community. Together with our partners, we are exploring opportunities for collaboration in other areas, which I hope to announce soon. I am grateful to our colleagues for their support in such a critically important area for us.”
It should be noted that since 2022, the Ukrainian Red Cross has been actively collaborating with the Bucha community to restore and rebuild healthcare facilities, schools, and kindergartens, as well as to provide comprehensive humanitarian assistance to the population.
