Participation in the XII International Veterans Forum ‘Ukraine. Veterans. Unity’

“Today, it is important to implement a system of support for veterans and their families that will last for more than one year and ensure the gradual and high-quality provision of all necessary services,” emphasised Anna Didenko, Head of the Rehabilitation and Support Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, at the XII International Veterans Forum ‘Ukraine. Veterans. Unity’.

The Ukrainian Red Cross is already implementing several areas of support for veterans and their families, including:

  • psychosocial support;
  • home-based rehabilitation services;
  • provision of rehabilitation aids;
  • recommendations for housing adaptation;
  • social adaptation for veterans and their families.

Meanwhile, nine mobile rehabilitation units of the Ukrainian Red Cross operate across five regions of Ukraine, providing rehabilitation services to nearly 200 people.

In addition, since April 2024, the Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, has launched a Unified Veterans Hotline. The goal is to provide information and psychological support to veterans, including female veterans, and their families. Currently, ten operators handle between 250 and 350 calls a day.
