A mine risk awareness session was conducted in Odesa for the staff of the Primary Healthcare Centre

As part of the ‘Safer Behaviour and Raising Awareness of the Risks of Mines and Explosive Remnants of War’ programme, instructors from the Kyiv district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Odesa conducted a mine risk information session for the medical staff of Primary Health Care Centre №3. During the event, the following topics were discussed:

  • mines and their types;
  • explosive remnants of war;
  • booby traps;
  • the impact of mines and explosive remnants of war on human life;
  • dangerous places;
  • marking signs;
  • action protocols for detecting mines and explosive remnants of war.

Today, Ukraine is one of the most mined countries in the world. Educating people on how to avoid life-threatening situations involving mines and other explosive devices is crucial. The Ukrainian Red Cross runs mine risk awareness campaigns throughout the country.
