A fully renovated and equipped geriatric nursing home has been opened in the Korshiv community
At the Korshiv Geriatric Nursing Home in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Ukrainian Red Cross regional branch, with the support of the Swiss Red Cross, completed a major renovation of the premises. This included equipping living rooms and bathrooms to meet the accessibility requirements outlined in the Inclusivity of Buildings and Structures standards. The primary goal of this assistance is to increase the number of available beds and ensure a comfortable stay for the facility’s residents.
“Thirty-six people in need of care and social support will live here in comfortable conditions. The Ivano-Frankivsk region has hosted more than 150,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), over four thousand people with disabilities, and 17,000 individuals of retirement age. The Prykarpattia nursing homes have accommodated those who require round-the-clock social and medical services. Our reliable partners have not stood aside,” stated Liudmyla Sirko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration.
The nursing home’s reconstruction was carried out according to a memorandum of cooperation signed between the Korshiv Geriatric Nursing Home and the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the Swiss Red Cross.
