In the Zakarpattia region, the Home-Based Care programme is expanding to support lonely people who need assistance with their care and daily life due to health conditions

In 2024, the Home-Based Care programme, implemented by the regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Zakarpattia region, has extended its reach to support more people.

Social assistants are now offering help in new communities, including the Horinchovo and Kolochava territorial communities of the Khust district, as well as the cities of Berehove and Tiachiv. They assist the elderly, people with disabilities, war veterans, and others. The team operates across 30 towns and villages, primarily in rural areas, and currently cares for 175 people, including 28 individuals with disabilities.

The programme in the region is implemented with the support of the Austrian Red Cross.

We stand by those in need!
