With the support of the Luxembourg Red Cross, educational and medical facilities have been rehabilitated in the Kyiv region

The Ukrainian Red Cross, in partnership with the Luxembourg Red Cross, continues to restore educational and medical facilities in Ukraine affected by the full-scale invasion. Today, Gulnamo Khudobakhshova, Head of the Luxembourg Red Cross Mission, visited the Kyiv Vocational College of Agriculture, Construction, and Management in Kyiv and the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Bila Tserkva. Both institutions received assistance in restoring premises damaged by strikes.
“During the morning attack on 23 January, I was on my way to work with a colleague. When I saw that our college had been hit, I told my colleague that we probably had nowhere else to go…” recalls Tetiana, Deputy Director of the Kyiv Vocational College of Construction, Architecture, and Design.
Thanks to the effective cooperation between the Luxembourg and Ukrainian Red Cross societies, 150 windows covering a total area of 350 square meters have been replaced on the educational institution’s premises.
At the same time, two physiotherapy rooms and two children’s rooms at the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Bila Tserkva have been restored. Currently, old wooden windows are being replaced with more modern PVC windows to provide more comfortable conditions for the facility’s young patients. The hospital serves eight districts of the Kyiv region and Bila Tserkva, reaching over 80,000 children.
“The Luxembourg Red Cross has been cooperating with the Ukrainian Red Cross for almost 30 years. Together, we have already implemented many projects to rehabilitate medical facilities in the Kyiv region and other regions of Ukraine such as Dnipro, Donetsk, Sumy and Mykolaiv. Together with the Ukrainian Red Cross, we plan to continue supporting the renovation of medical and other social infrastructure in Ukraine,” emphasized Gulnamo Khudobakhshova.
It should be noted that in 2023, thanks to the cooperation of the two national societies, the State Rehabilitation Institution “All-Ukrainian Centre for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities,” which was damaged in 2022, was restored in Liutizh, Kyiv region.
