The Ukrainian Red Cross expands its cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region

Oleksii Borodai, Head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Disaster Management Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, recently visited the Cherkasy region to strengthen cooperation in emergency response and support for the civil protection system.  

During the meeting, it was emphasised that the Ukrainian Red Cross has the capacity to respond to emergencies on a broader scale. The organisation cooperates with partners who are ready to finance the necessary activities. Consequently, the region intends to increase the involvement of the Ukrainian Red Cross in preventing and mitigating the consequences of emergencies, supplying personal protective equipment to the population and emergency services. 

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in civil protection in the Cherkasy region, involving assistance in equipping civil defence structures with the necessary property and equipment. In addition, further plans to improve the work for the sustainable functioning of the alert system and its development in the region were discussed.
