Kyiv: Evacuation of Children from the Okhmatdyt Hospital
Emergency response teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross are working to clear the rubble of the destroyed building of the Okhmatdyt Сhildren’s Hospital. Currently, 16 people have been reported injured, seven of whom are children. Two adults, including one doctor, have been killed.
Volunteers evacuated children who were undergoing inpatient treatment in the neurosurgery department in the nearby building of the Okhmatdyt Hospital. The evacuation was carried out during another air raid alert and an attack on the city. Four children with spinal injuries unable to move independently and one child on a ventilator were promptly evacuated to a safer place.
Additionally, volunteers administer first aid to those affected, and a tent has been established to provide water and essential supplies to emergency services personnel and those working to clear the rubble.
