Assistance to Lonely People in the Kharkiv Region: Home-Based Care

In Barvinkove, Kharkiv region, five social assistants of the Ukrainian Red Cross provide comprehensive assistance to 45 lonely people, mostly elderly individuals who cannot perform basic tasks due to health conditions. These tasks include cooking meals, shopping for groceries, medicines, and hygiene products, cleaning their living spaces, and even bathing. Many of these people can only move within the confines of their homes.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Home-Based Care programme supports such people. Social assistants make regular visits to the beneficiaries and help them with their daily lives and personal care. They possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care and ensure the safety and well-being of those they assist.

Across the Kharkiv region, 50 social assistants of the Home-Based Care programme provide support to almost 300 lonely people, mostly the elderly.

We stand by those in need!
