Information Sessions for Students on “What is Violence?” Held in Vinnytsia
June 19th marks the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.
In support of the event, the team of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Unit of the Vinnytsia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted information sessions for students of one of the schools in Vinnytsia. These sessions covered important topics such as “What is violence?” and “Protection from violence.”
“The training sessions were very interesting and useful. We learned that name-calling, ridicule, and sarcastic remarks are forms of violence, which I had never considered before. Besides gaining valuable knowledge, we also participated in engaging activities during these events,” shared Illia, a ten-year-old participant.
Ten events were held under the Emotional Resilience Programme, which aims to identify and address social and emotional issues that children aged 9-14 may face. The programme is being implemented with the support of the Danish Red Cross in Ukraine.
