To Hospital or Back Home: Transporting People with Limited Mobility in the Donetsk Region

Many elderly people live in the Pokrovsk community within the Donetsk region, especially in Myrnohrad. They require planned medical treatment but cannot independently reach medical facilities, even in Kramatorsk.

To address this problem, the Myrnohrad city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross initiated the “Transportation of People in Need of Planned Treatment” programme in March 2024. This project aims to transport individuals to hospitals, between medical facilities, and back to their homes. The programme conducts over 50 transports per month.

Volunteers have already facilitated transportation to the medical facilities in Kramatorsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and even Poltava. They will continue to do everything they can to help and support people.

We stand by those in need!
