In the Zakarpattia Region, a Team of Volunteers Supports 270 People with Drug-Sensitive and Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis

The Zakarpattia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross provides support to more than 270 people under the programme “Increasing the adherence of patients with drug-sensitive and drug-resistant tuberculosis to treatment by providing medical and psychosocial support”. 

As part of this programme, Ukrainian Red Cross specialists offer their clients comprehensive medical and psychosocial support according to their social and humanitarian needs. Since the start of the programme in the Zakarpattia region, the Ukrainian Red Cross: 

• provided over 740 food parcels to the beneficiaries; 

• offered more than 40 transport services; 

• organised nearly 50 consultations with psychologists and lawyers for the beneficiaries; 

• supervises the home medication intake for 2 beneficiaries; 

• informs about the specifics of TB treatment and monitoring. 

The programme is implemented in cooperation with the International Charitable Foundation “Alliance for Public Health”.
