In the Cherkasy region, Ukrainian Red Cross Volunteers Conduct Awareness Raising Events to Teach Schoolchildren How to Handle Explosive Devices
Summer is a time of holidays and active recreation for schoolchildren. However, the absence of lessons is no reason to neglect personal safety. Instructors from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross participated in the regional local history festival ‘My Land, My Pride!’ in Cherkasy, attended by children from six communities of the region.
During the information sessions, the volunteers covered the following topics:
- explosive devices and other types of threats,
- the impact of explosive devices,
- types of dangerous places and how to identify them,
- examples of risky behaviour,
- strategies for safer behaviour.
