Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross Attended the Cash Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons Conference

The Cash Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons Conference was organised yesterday in Kyiv by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Protection of Property and Non-Property Rights of IDPs and Other Persons Affected by the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine with the support of the USAID Program RADA: Next Generation.  

Members of parliament, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, government agencies, international partners, and NGOs attended the event. Pavlo Frolov, Marten Ehnberg, Iryna Vereshchuk, Maksym Tkachenko, and others were among the speakers. The participants discussed the current state and challenges of cash assistance to IDPs in Ukraine, improvements to cash payment mechanisms, cooperation between the state and NGOs, and collaboration between the government and parliament to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to the needs of IDPs. As co-chairs of the Cash Working Group, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross presented achievements and challenges and discussed ways to address issues in providing cash assistance to IDPs, aiming to enhance efficiency in supporting vulnerable populations through cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and international and national humanitarian organisations.
