Over the Past Week, Ukrainian Red Cross Mobile Health Units Provided Primary Healthcare Services to 700 People in the Sumy Region

In the Sumy region, mobile health units operated by the Ukrainian Red Cross reach remote settlements to provide essential healthcare services to the local population. Over the course of a week, these units visit approximately 50 settlements and deliver medical care to more than 700 individuals.

Specialists from the mobile health units:

  • conduct health examinations;
  • measure blood pressure, blood glucose, and oxygen levels;
  • provide immediate medical treatment on-site or arrange referrals to specialists as needed;
  • dispense free over-the-counter medicines of general therapeutic effect to stabilise a person’s health;
  • arrange urgent transportation to medical facilities for patients in life-threatening conditions.

Their primary objective is to extend healthcare services to the region’s most remote communities, where access to medical care is limited or nonexistent, to provide primary healthcare and deliver medicines.

In the region, Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units operate in the Krolevets, Trostianets, Hlukhiv, Nedryhailivka, Putyvl, and Krasnopillia communities.

The Mobile Health Units programme is being implemented in the Sumy region with the support of the Swedish Red Cross.

We stand by those in need!
