Zhytomyr Region Hosted an Event for Children in the Educational Space at the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital
Children from the ‘Superheroes School’ educational centre at the Zhytomyr Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital met a team of volunteers from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support unit of the Zhytomyr regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
At the basic psychosocial support event with elements of creativity, the children had the opportunity to get to know their peers and guests better. The focus was on learning teamwork rules. The children expressed their feelings and thoughts, communicated and interacted freely. The event provided a relaxed atmosphere where the children could improve their emotional state and general well-being. In a cheerful mood, the ‘Superheroes’ created and presented personalized postcards. The event ended with a joint ‘Me and You’ exercise.
It is crucial to support children who have been staying in hospitals for years. Psychosocial support activities with elements of creativity offer a chance to distract from procedures and hospital routines and to find friends and new hobbies.
